CBFC Demands Edits: What Was Cut?
According to a report by Bollywood Hungama, the makers of War 2 submitted a fresh cut of the film to the CBFC, which reportedly involved about 10 minutes of edited footage. The censor board suggested several changes and recommended cutting these 10 minutes before granting the film a U/A16+ certificate.
Among these edits, the popular pool scene featuring Kiara Advani in a bikini was reportedly trimmed. This sequence, highlighted in the teaser and the viral song Aavan Jaavan, showcased Kiara’s toned physique and had already created a buzz on social media.
Sensual Scenes Shortened
The CBFC reportedly asked the filmmakers to remove 9 seconds of sensual footage from the movie, possibly trimming some of the sultry moments between Kiara and Hrithik. This move came as part of a broader directive to tone down the sensual content — the board instructed a 50% reduction in such imagery.
Other Changes Beyond Kiara’s Scenes
The censor board also required the filmmakers to mute or replace several inappropriate dialogues and gestures across six different audio-visual segments. While the action-packed sequences remain untouched, War 2’s Aavan Jaavan song faced the most scrutiny.
Interestingly, the censor certificate reveals that War 2 runs for nearly 3 hours (2 hours, 59 minutes, and 49 seconds), but after the edits submitted on August 8, 2025, the trimmed footage reportedly cuts about 51 minutes and 44 seconds — likely counting cumulative cuts.
